Donor-advised fund (DAF)

Do you have a donor-advised fund? You can use it to make a powerful, tax-efficient gift to support our mission.

We’ve partnered with DAF Direct, which offers a direct link that makes giving easy. You can specify how you’d like your grant used, communicate your intentions directly to KCA, and connect with your DAF provider.

Supporting KCNQ2 Cure through your DAF is a simple way to sustain progress in research and patient support while preserving cash for other needs.

IRA distribution

• Ages 70½+
• Up to $100,000
• Counts toward RMD at 72

If you are 70½ or older, you can give up to $100,000 directly from your IRA to your favorite charity.

The transfer is not included in your taxable income, and it does not generate a tax deduction. Once you turn 72, the charitable distribution can count toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD).

To give this way, just ask your broker to send a charitable contribution from your IRA to KCNQ2 Cure Alliance.

Stock donation

A gift of publicly traded stock advances the mission of KCNQ2 Cure and can provide greater tax benefits than a cash donation.

By donating stock, you may avoid capital gains tax on any increase in value over the original cost. You can also save on brokerage fees, because you’re transferring ownership rather than selling the stock.

Corporate giving

Your company’s corporate giving policy may match your donation, and most companies have some kind of program. Remind your friends and colleagues to check theirs, too.
